Hence my Little 6 Months Project got to take a break while I churn out all the Cookies from Oven.. Will be back after CNY with more Dishes to catch-up on Lost Time~*

Till then.. have a Fantastic CNY!!

Dish 4 & 5: 豆柿豆腐 & 纸包鸡

Date: 16th Jan (Sunday)

Another week has passed~* And I have churned out yet another 2 dishes !!

Tried a Tofu dish.. the recipe called for normal Tofu but I personally prefer Egg Tofu and so I bought the latter. Frying the Tofu is no easy task as they are so fragile and I have difficulty turning them over. Or should I just put in more oil so all the Tofu are submerged in the oil? The Black fermented beans turned out to be a very tricky matter.. it is way too salty and hence I added too much water. The gravy is supposed to be a thick sauce but mine turned out to be a watery gravy. This is yumm~~* I marinated the chicken in the day before and fridge it overnight.. I wrapped it all up in Patchment Paper and deep dried it. Deep frying turned out to be tricky as the chicken are all wrapped up.. no way can I garge if the chicken are cooked or not. But nevertheless.. the Chicken is all cooked and so well-marinated~*

And now.. what is up for next week? =)

Dish 2 & 3: Prawn Fritters & Chicken in Sauce

Date: 3rd Jan (Sunday)

Has been busy with work lately.. but nevertheless, there'll always be time for hobbies~*
This is a Cooking Project.. but frankly, my First Love will always be Baking. Made a tray of yummilicious Chocolate Chip Cupcakes over the weekend.. And after that its time to get down to serious work. The Prawn Fritters turned out to be harder then expected.. Peeling of Prawns turned out be disgusting, the Batter is a pain in the ass and I only manage to get is right at the 2nd try and the deep frying of the Prawns is a tedious task. Boiling the Chicken Drumstick while I deep fry the Prawn Fritters.. The Chicken is healthy - after boiling it in water, I transfer it to ice-water and proceed to prepare the sauce. Fry some Garlic, follow by Oyster Sauce, Salt and Sugar and some Corn Starch Mixture and Voila~* Complete the meal with the Stir-fry Mushroom (which is really easy to make and delicious).

2 more Dishes completed.. so what should I cook next? =)

Dish 1: Sweet & Sour Pork

Date: 4th Jan (Monday)

I kept thinking of Sweet and Sour Pork over the weekend; hence this shall be the first dish attempted..
Omitted the Tomatoes as I'm not a big fan of it.. should have marinade the Pork overnight - as the Pork is not as fragrant as I would like it to be. Well.. I first have to fry the Pork (coated in Corn Flour) and after that just stir fry everything together. 似莫似样的。。Since since I am at it.. I whipped out a Mushroom Dish. Very simple dish that I just kind of figure it out myself.. Stir fry 2 types of Mushroom together and add in Oyster Sauce - easy and yummy~* This is not in the Recipe Book but it works perfectly with the Sweet and Sour Pork for 1 meal.

The cooking part is not difficult.. but the cleaning up part (washing all the pots and dishes, clean up the stove and mop the floor) turn out to be a chore. But nevertheless; 成功!

What should I cook next.. =)

The Beginning...

After watching Julie and Julia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julie_&_Julia), as the life of 2 women from different era and background unfolds.. I am so inspired by Julie's determination and hence decided to start this..
As I hold a full time job and this is real-life.. I got to be practical and not dream of churning out 524 dishes in a single year; so let me settle for something more feasible. I have this Love for Chinese Food; hence I got myself a Recipe Book - 六十道轻松易煮 大排挡菜。

The Recipe Book is divided out into different category.. and my aim is to churn out 2-3 dishes per week and to try out all the Recipes in 6 months.

A brand new year to start a brand new project!! May this little project of mine get great success~~*
